most Star Trek episodes dealt with social issues, although most people thought it was dealing strictly, with Sci-fi … I do not recall the name of the episode of one such, I do recall the “social” message … it was about “prejudice” and it was disturbing … the Star ship was on a planet of “blue /green eyed creatures” … every single one of these creatures looked alike … in skin color and hair color and they all had one blue eye and one green eye … the exact shade of blue, the exact shade of green …
Yet these creatures were fighting each other on their planet
and the crew of the Star-ship Enterprise could not understand the cause of the
conflict and the reason was not apparent until the end of the episode… when the
Enterprise decided to leave the planet, because they would never be able to
stop the fighting on the planet … it was not until the final scene, when
Captain Kirk asked one of the leaders of this planet … why are you constantly fighting each other
and the leader, said this … “because they are inferior to us, didn’t you
notice their blue eye is on the left side of their face, our blue eye is on the
right side of our face, they are inferior to us”…. Wow…
freak’n wow ….when you really think about that … and you think about how we
call each other inferior, because another human being does not look like us …
We on earth fight over everything … stupid things most of the
time… we think the riots of the last year were bad (and they were) … but rioting
seems to be in our DNA… the junk DNA that can be found in most human DNA …
We have even rioted over a “fashion statement”… injuring each other over what to wear and not to wear …
sounds like “fake news” … no it really happened … the story is below … and I wonder is humanity “savable” … I do not
think so, not on this planet at lease …. We are as small minded as those on the
“blue/ green eyed planet”, depicted in a Star Trek episode ….
